Introduction
In 2024, I collaborated with Monosend to design a cross-border payment platform that combined the familiar reliability of traditional finance with the flexibility of crypto. Having personally experienced the frustration of sending money across African countries and exploring crypto transfers, I knew how best to tackle it.

The Challenge
Cross-border transactions in Africa can be slow, confusing, and expensive—further complicated by fluctuating exchange rates and varying regulations. While crypto often promises more efficiency, its volatility and complex interfaces can deter everyday users. The core objective was to unify both fiat and crypto functionalities into one intuitive app that would instill confidence at every step.

Research & Insights
I took a close look at notable platforms:
Chipper Cash: Leader in African money transfers, known for simplicity and low fees.
Binance: Comprehensive crypto exchange, but intimidating for users less familiar with crypto.
Wise: Champion of transparent forex rates, yet less tailored to African currencies and remittance flows.

The Solution
The outcome was a multi-layered platform that consolidates essential financial tools in one place:
1. Money Transfers
Fiat Transfers: Seamlessly send and receive funds (e.g., Naira ↔ Rand) with upfront fee and rate visibility.
USDT Integration: Stablecoin support for low-volatility crypto transfers.
Quick Send: One-tap re-sends to favorite contacts, plus real-time tracking.

2. Virtual Card
Instant Card Generation: Ready-to-use for online purchases.
Real-Time Alerts: Spending notifications and freeze/unfreeze capabilities at your fingertips.
Spending Analytics: Helps users track expenses and stay on budget.

Website UI
I also worked on their website and added a few animations
